The POV Turret, or Point of View Turret, is a fixed weapon emplacement. It appears in MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf.
Description[]
The POV Turret is the only weapon emplacement that can be operated directly by the player. It appears as a usable weapon in only two missions of the Lone Wolf campaign and appears in several multiplayer maps.
Weapons[]
Like many vehicles and weapons seen in the MechAssault series, the POV turret has two variants with different loadouts:
The first loadout is the most common: 1x POV Missile and 1x Medium Laser. The second loadout is 1x Gauss Rifle and 1x Pulse Laser.
For defense, both variants are equipped with a variation of the legendary LosTech shield built specifically for the turrets. The POV Missile is exclusive to this turret. The POV Turret is unique in that its laser fires and reloads faster than standard lasers. This weapon does medium damage, equivalent to a single level 3 Javelin missile.
Variations[]
There are apparently 4 variations of the turret according to the User Manual, although only two are found in game. One for multiplayer and one exclusive to the campaign.
Trivia[]
- On base wars it is possible to shoot POV missiles at the enemy base, depending on the layout of the chosen map.
